• Our idea of starting a tipping service where punters do the opposite of us is gaining momentum.

In Round 4 of the Toyota 2019 AFL Premiership competition, we got three right. Three from nine is 33 percent, which is suspiciously close to the outcome that might be expected for a punter backing favourites on the Thoroughbred tracks.

The one that stung us the worst was the Bombers beating the Lions. We could not, for the life of us, understand why Essendon was favoured, yet they not only won, they covered the spread and posted a 47-point victory.

Undaunted, here are our guesses for Round 5.

Remember, no one should pick based on our choices and should anyone need convincing, we have made 18 selections and were right five times.

Brisbane is hosting Collingwood at the Gabba. The Pies are favoured by 9.5-points. Collingwood all the way.

Next is North Melbourne as 10.5-point underdogs versus Essendon at Marvel Stadium. Well, the Bombers bombarded us last week, so we will get behind them for the Round 5 win.

West Coast is hosting Port Adelaide at Optus Stadium as 27.5-point favourites. The Eagles will soar to the win.

GWS will play Fremantle in Canberra, which we suppose makes them home team. They are favoured by 34.5-points. We smell a trap, but we take the Giants to Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum us all the way to the bank, so long as they do not smell the blood of an Englishman.

Melbourne is playing the Saints at MCG. The Saints cost us last week, so we will go over to the Demons and the 17.5-point margin by which they are favoured.

Richmond and Sydney will play in Marvel Stadium. The Tigers are 15.5-point favourites, so we will take the Tigers to play up to pre-season expectations.

Western Bulldogs are 18.5-point favourites against the Carlton Blues at Marvel and it would be no small marvel if the Blues could win, so we pick the Dogs.

Adelaide has Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval as 28.5-point favourites. Gold Coast has nothing with which to scare the Crows away, so we pick the Crows to rob the corn from the Suns.

The final game is Hawthorn versus Geelong at MCG, with the Cats favoured by 15.5-points. We take the Cats to win.

We backed all favourites this week, as the entire fixture does not seem to have anything tight. We will be our hunting Easter eggs and will report next week.
