We did better, much better, with our tipping for Round 5 of the Toyota 2019 AFL Premiership competition.
For Round 5, we were right for five of the nine games.
We are keeping our regular jobs, however, as Round 5 was probably the easiest this season.
Collingwood mauled the Lions in Bris bane by the score of 123 -61. WE were right on this one, while at the same time hoping that this is not the stage of the season where the Lions unravel.
We were right on Essendon’s win over the Roos. We did not expect it to be as lopsided as the 116 – 58 outcome, but we will take it.
West Coast let us down by losing 95 – 53 to Port in Perth. If we take the 42-point victory margin and add it to the 27.5-point spread the NT wise guys were posting, the 67.5-point total is more than the Eagles scored.
GWS cruelled us badly. They were 34.5-point favourites, but lost by 24.
They Saints won by 40 over the Dees, but we almost expected that to happen, as any time the Saints play, you had better pray.
We were right on Richmond versus the Swans. We did not take the line bet, but the Tigers covered all the same.
Carlton broke their duck and beat Western Bulldogs 101 – 57. We suspect a ring in and we definitely have a severe case of the blues.
We picked the Crows to beat the Suns. That was the gift punt of the round. Total points count toward finals, so the Crows kept their foot on the Suns’ throats for the entire game, winning by 73.
We were right to back the Cats over Hawthorn. It was a tight game, but Geelong pulled away at the end and covered.
We will have our guesses for Round 6 soon and we intend to switch things up by including some hypothetical stakes in order to supply some Profit and Loss figures.
